It might be hard to believe it but I really didn't wear a lot of cardigans in high school. Actually, I don't really remember wearing any. Ballet flats weren't really part of my wardrobe either.
So, this month's Everybody, Everywear theme got me thinking about what I'd wear if I could go back to high school now...as an adult...Josie Grossy style. (And to be completely honest, I'd do it in a HEARTBEAT!)
Of course, I'd wear a cardigan and some flats. And I'd mix up the colors too, because, that's just what I do. But I think even if I tried not to, I'd never be true to my style if I didn't look like a teacher. I was mistaken for a teacher a few times in high school anyway...heh. I guess that hasn't changed...
Tank: New York & Co (similar) // Cardigan // Jeans // Flats: Target (similar) // Necklace: Unknown, gift
I would also like to briefly state that I've stopped fake tanning for awhile. It's a lot of work and I always smell like pee, so I'm giving myself a break. Perhaps I'll take it back up again, but for now, power to the paleness. Can I get an Amen??
Oh, and did you enter my giveaway yet? Wednesday is the last day to enter!!

I have those flats too!! Love them!
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome!
Delete"I would also like to briefly state that I've stopped fake tanning for awhile. It's a lot of work and I always smell like pee" hahahaha I think that's a VERY good reason to stop!
ReplyDeleteI just can't take the scent. Uh, it's ungodly. HAHA.
DeleteOh man, I was an Old Navy head to toe fleeced out girl in high school too - I totally get this! I'd love to go back and sick my now stylish self on my frumpy high school self! Then again, I still got the boy - I married my high school sweetheart so I guess it wasn't all bad!
ReplyDeleteI love those flats, they are darling!!
Good for you!! I'm still waiting on my Prince Charming, but hopefully he'll show up soon.
DeleteLove the reference to Never Been Kissed!

Thanks Sal!
Delete"never been kissed" is my favorite secret guilty pleasure movie.... watch it all the time! i was not made fun of in high school at all, but definitely not that popular girl, was smart and deemed a bit of a nerd, so, i too would go back in a moment. it is funny, the ways in which are confident then and the ways in which we are insecure; i was a strange mix of the two.
ReplyDeletealso, glad to hear you are not tanning; your skin tone is lovely!

Thanks!!
DeleteOh my gosh, don't you just LOVE that movie? It's one of those I always watch when it's on TV.
Very cute outfit! ;) And amen, girl - as nice as it is to be healthily tanned that smell is just too awful! ;)
ReplyDeleteAgreed on the tan-stench. Whenever they decide to make something that really doesn't smell (even the "unscented ones" stink) I'll be first in line!
DeleteI was homeschooled so I went to high school in my pjs. Now that I am a homeschool mom I try to get dressed and wear makeup every day. I feel better when I look cute, even if "no one" will see me.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pale green with the dark blue. Very pretty combo.
Also, I have always believed in the power of paleness. ;)
Yay! Power to the paleness!
Deletelooooooove this! the colors are perfect and so classic! perfect for back to school!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! SO cute!!!! I would definitely wear it to school! I'm your newest follower :)
