Confessional Friday

Happy Friday!

And what better way to celebrate my favorite day of the week than with another Confessional Friday post?!

//1. I confess that I've had a craving for cupcakes for about a week. It all started when I saw this blog post. I have no idea how I came across it, but glory-BE I've been craving a chocolate cupcake since then.

//2. I confess that I might be slightly addicted to the Candy Crush Saga game on my phone. I don't know how I stumbled across it...but now I CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT! When did I become a "gamer"?

//3. I confess I've been taking the magic NyQuil ride almost every night this week. To be fair, I am getting over a nasty virus/upper respiratory issues...so, it's okay, right?

//4. I confess that it's a bit weird that the girl at my local Jersey Mike's knows my name and how I like my sandwich. I mean, I'm glad she does, of course. But I honestly probably go in there MAYBE once every 2 months? Is that weird or am I just paranoid?

-Granted my sandwiches are really easy: ham, provolone, mayo. No vegetables. No nastiness. Thanks.-

//5. I confess that I'm considering purchasing a pair of TOMS shoes to wear with my more casual winter outfits. There are a few things holding me back... 1. I'm 27 and not 19. 2. I'm 27 and not 19. 3. They are kind of ugly...but not OOGLY. So, they aren't ugly enough not to wear, but not especially attractive.

Do you see my predicament?

But, I am considering these...because they are wool/fleece and will keep my tootsies toasty.

Care to weigh in? Are TOMS too young for me? Be honest, people. My fashion reputation is on the line!

But aside from that, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Linking up these confessions with Leslie. Read the other confessions here.

  1. Ha! I love the "I'm 27 and not 19" line. I've never been able to identify why I don't own Toms, but I think you've phrased it well there.
Also, I just don't think Toms fit your image. They are too, what? Hipster?

I might do a confessional Friday post for the first time today, if I have time!

  2. Toms aren't too young for you. I'm 29 and I have a pair (and am actually wearing them right now, coincidentally enough). They're comfy. No, theyre not the prettiest of shoes, but they are totally worth it for walking around all day, etc. Last year I worked with a lot of people from low 20's to 30's and almost everyone had Toms. Totally acceptable. Do it!

  3. I don't think you're too old for Toms (but hey, I'm 34 and I wear Chucks). I agree with Jill that Toms don't seem very you. What about these fleece lined flats:

  7. I don't mind Tom's on guys, but not so much on girls. They are borderline in the croc category. Maybe a cute pair of slide on uggs (I normally don't do uggs, but their slipper style is cute).

  8. I feel the same about TOMS. I mean, I'd wear them if they were free or secondhand without a though (and not too worn out because, it looks to me like they get pretty beat up). My main complaint against TOMS is that you are supposedly not supposed to wear them with socks. Which to me means that they are not winter shoes because socks are a necessity in winter. Except yesterday when it was 68 degrees.

  10. No to Toms on principle. Everyone wears them...be original. The expense is outrageous...you could buy 3 pairs of shoes. Their model for distributing free shoes; and where / how the shoes you buy and the shoes kids get for free are manufactured. Controversy between the founder and Focus on the Family.

  11. I'm 35 and have the silver sparkly ones. I wear them almost every Friday to work on casual day (I'm the HR person). I also have the gray tweed ones as well.

  12. I know Tom's are for a good cause and that's admirable but I don't find them comfortable. If you're used to ballet flats etc then it could work for you but they have no support at all...Just flat. Just an opinion :) Thanks for link to the Cupcake Post! Woot!

  13. I am not a fan of Tom's due to the Focus on the Family issue.
