Top 5 Tuesday: Cookie and Candy Kryptonite

Something that may not be as apparent on my blog as it is in real life is my sweet tooth.

Actually, it's probably more appropriate to call it my raging, humongous mouth of sweet teeth. I say this with no shame...because I am addicted to sweets.

I can usually count on my self-control and intestinal fortitude to keep me from over-indulging most of the time but there are a few delicious sweets that cause me to lose all self-control and consume as many as I possibly can. These are the things that I do not bake (or buy) because I would probably eat all of them. With it being the Christmas season, my exposure to these delectable delights is higher and thus the danger lurks at every corner.

If you ever wanted to ruin my diet, you might buy me some of the following sweets that seriously cause me to lose my cotton-headed ninny muggin mind.

1. Oreo Truffles
recipe: just to be mean... :)

I could probably literally eat my weight in these things. And then I'd get sick and throw them up...and then I'd just eat more.

2. Dark Chocolate Sea-Salted Caramels - from Whole Foods

Do NOT go into Whole Foods and buy these with the intentions of sharing with your coworkers. You will either a) eat them all instead or b) share them with your coworkers and develop a silent rage every time someone eats one because that means one less for you at the end of the day.

3. Chocolate covered (dipped) Oreos (are y'all sensing a theme here??)

Nabisco USED to sell these all the time. And I'm not talking about that white chocolate covered crap that they release for the holidays or the chocolate covered Oreos that are only one half of an Oreo that is on the shelves now. No, these were real, WHOLE Oreo cookies dipped in delicious fudge and packaged in a white box. I'm so sad you cannot get these anymore. But many chocolatiers and candy companies make and sell these on their own.

4. Reese's Miniatures (not Reese's minis)

Now, I love a Reese's in any form, but the miniatures are just the bomb. The perfect combination of pb and chocolate, in my opinion.

5. Chocolate Gooey Butter Cookies

I've only made these once and I can never make them again. I'm pretty sure I was only able to take less than a dozen to the party I was attending because I ate the rest. But I mean, can you blame me? The recipe name has Chocolate AND Butter in it it.

Now that I've spilled my deepest, darkest, cookie and candy kryptonite secrets, tell me yours!
