Over the Weekend: Drop-In Housewarming Party

Whew this weekend was a little crazy. Saturday afternoon was our housewarming party and even though it was a drop-in...we seemed to have mostly everyone come around the same time. No complaining here though. It was great to have our house packed with a few close friends and family and to give everyone a chance to see the new place. Part of this was due to the fact that I didn't want to get 6 months, 8 months or 1 year down the road and people were still ragging me to come over and see the place...so why not have everyone at once?

Thanks to my MiL's coworker's husband (or something like that) who made this P for the door. Yes, I am that annoying person with P monograms everywhere. More Ps on the house tour coming tomorrow. We got the P unfinished and I painted it white last week.

Here's one angle of the food area. We set the food up on our island in the kitchen. All of the dishes (sans 2) were white and I acquired some white/tan/gray paint swatches from Lowe's to double as food labels. :)

These caprese bites were a hit! The top bowl had olive oil, balsamic vinegar and ground Italian herbs.

These were my favorite thing. They were so easy and made a huge statement!!

Another angle of the food.

Overall, the food was a hit! Come back tomorrow for a home tour and see the progress thus far.
