bucket list of places to travel

I always see pictures from other people's trips and vacations and think, "Oh, I'd really like to go there!" But, I've never actually compiled a list of places (in the US) I want to visit/see during my lifetime. So, why not do it on the blog so that I can be held accountable?

Here they are, in random order: (I've included places that I've already crossed off my list too!)

New York City
San Diego
Grand Teton National Park
The Mississippi River
San Antonio
Martha's Vineyard
The Florida Keys (Cape Canaveral)
Washington, D.C.
The Grand Canyon
New Orleans
The San Diego Zoo

Where would you like to travel to in the United States that you've not been to yet? Have you visited and loved any of the places that I haven't? I'd love your feedback!

  1. Great list! Here's mine:
    -the fish market in Washington
    -The Grand Canyon (again)
-California-Pacific beaches and the dusty trails Steinbeck writes about riding horseback in his books
    -the Bad Lands
    -a real desert
    -the Colorado River
    -Colorado Springs, CO
    -Iowa (revisit)
-Charlotte, NC (revisiting hopefully this week)
-Looking Glass Falls (hopefully revisiting this summer)
    -rocky beaches in the Northeast
-the last 100 miles of the Appalachin Trail in Maine
    -LaCont Lodge
-deserted/uninhabited islands along the Atlantic Coast
    -sail along the Atlantic coast
-motorcycle from the Carolinas to Alaska

  2. D and A have never been to NYC either. I love it. There is so much to see and do there. I've also been to New Orleans and Williamsburg off of your list, but I was in 4th grade for Williamsburg and would probably get a lot more out of it now.

My main two places left in the US that I want to visit are California (San Diego, LA, San Francisco) and the Grand Canyon. I've been doing a pretty good job of marking places off my list ever since I got that giant map that I put pins in (have you ever seen my giant map? It's in my office, so maybe not).

  3. My US list:
    -The Bad Lands
    -The Appalachian Trail

Comments make me SO happy! Go ahead...make my day. ;)
