why I love the South

Today's post links up with Leslie at A Blonde Ambition blog for the Celebrating Southern week. Today's prompt is "Why I Love _____ (My Region of the Country)".

Why do I love being Southern and living in the Southeast?

1. Summer starts in April.
2. Macaroni and cheese is a vegetable.
3. It's become the new melting pot of the United States.
4. Southern accents are presh. (but I could possibly be biased)
5. We have 4 real seasons.
6. We never get tired of snow.
7. Children are weaned on football.
8. We have mountains AND beaches just a few hours away.
9. We have the most formidable college football conference in the country. (SEC)
10. Tea is sweet and the people are sweeter.
11. You can do outdoor activities pretty much year-round.
12. You're never a stranger.
13. There's a church on every corner, practically.
14. We've got the oldest American historic sites.
15. We're taught to say "ma'am" and "sir" to everyone INCLUDING our parents.

A few reasons EVERYONE should love the South are:
Krispy Kreme, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Chick Fil-A and airplanes (Ohio, my foot).

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
