how to: wear a chambray shirt

So, I have this chambray shirt that I bought for a western-themed outing recently and I've been stumped as to how to wear it without going for the whole western ensemble. Chambray is a popular fabric this year and the light density allows it to be worn in virtually every season.

Here are four outfits I put together (along with a bit of inspiration from Lucky Magazine) with a chambray shirt that is pretty dang similar to the one that I have.

This first one is a little bit of a Parisian look with cropped skinny pants, ballet flats and a nautical bag.

Pair your chambray top with a paper bag skirt, a lace tank, wedges and some chunky jewelry and you're set!

Try wearing your chambray shirt open (like a jacket) over a floral dress for a prairie look. A straw bag and cameo earrings keep outfit nice and sweet.

For those of you with a bit more of a campy style, you can rock a chambray top with shorts, sandals, leather accessories and an SPF blocking straw hat!

See, there are a few ways to wear a chambray shirt without looking like an extra in a western movie. Now, I just need to see which of these works with what I've got in my closet and I'm set!
