outfit of the day: beary-berry blue

Yes, I named my outfit today. I like naming it. One of the blog writers I like names her outfits, so I stole her idea.

Here's what I'm wearing today and a brief excuse commentary as to why I'm wearing it.

Today's outfit was a quick (I woke up rather late) one to put together. I just recently bought this cropped cardigan and was unsure of the color. It's sort of a teddy bear brown. Hence this post's name. Once I paired it with navy (because I love navy with anything) and jeans (because the air conditioning in my office is FREEZING) I decided that I needed to glam it up with something. It was very plain. Enter my berry colored ruffle flats and my large, navy statement necklace. (I did blog last week about my new love of dainty jewelry, however this is a holdover from the old stuff.) I do think the large necklace worked with this whole get-up. Also, notice the messy bun? Another product of waking up late. Eh.

Cropped Cardigan: Old Navy
Jeans: Some obscure brand from Marshalls
Tank: Rue 21
Flats: Odell flats by Mossimo (Target)
Necklace: Who the heck knows!?! It's at least 10 years old.

  1. You say you love navy with anything - does that include black? Personally, I like navy and black together (it's kind of like denim and black to me) but I'd love to hear your opinion.

  2. Hmmm, I think navy and black COULD go together, but I it would really depend on the shade of both and how they were put together. In general, I don't like doing navy and black unless it's a dark wash (navy) denim with black. This is a good question though...maybe an idea for a future outfit post?!?!

  3. I was mostly referring to the fact that for me I generally lean towards navy as a neutral INSTEAD of black because black is so harsh with my coloring.
