We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Our country has seen both war and peace. Our country has had both a depression and a recession. Our country has celebrated progression in technology and economics. Our country has been devastated by civil war. Our country has been wounded by terrorism. Our country has reveled in global victory. Our country has emphasized diversity while still priding herself on unity.
Our country is many ethnicities, many backgrounds, many demographics, many beliefs and many ideas.
But our country is still one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
I, for one, am glad to be a part of this great nation of many people. I am proud to be an American.
