Unfortunately, it's also that time of year when many, many of my female friends decide to wear Ugg boots with mini skirts. Now, I'm not attacking Ugg boots themselves (though in general I do not like them because I think they make a skinny foot/ankle look like Fred Flintstone and I'm not a fan of anything that makes something skinny look LARGER) but merely attacking the preposterous notion of wearing Ugg boots with a mini-skirt and thus exposing 1/2 of the leg.
Maybe I should be clearer? UGG BOOTS ARE FOR WINTER. If it's warm enough to wear a mini skirt and a tank top or short-sleeve tee shirt then it's too warm to wear Ugg boots. Capiesce?
I really don't think I need to say anymore about the ridiculousness of this trend. I commented briefly on it last year but it still prevails. My friend Sharon (at work) pointed me towards the resurgence of this trend yesterday. Obviously, these women are not reading my blog...
The only thing that could make this Ugg boot trend worse would be exposed retro basketball socks, a pout a la Mary Kate Olsen, a furry trapper's hat or bikini bottom ties hanging out of some Soffe shorts. Sigh...

Now, feel free to disagree and/or show me an example of this trend done well. I'm not sure it exists.

ReplyDeleteApes, I got a pair of riding-like boots... and they are revolutionizing my wardrobe. Pretty much everyday I wear them I think of how proud you would be of my outfit. I'll send you a pic next time I wear them. : )

ReplyDeleteThe above link is the only time I've ever seen Uggs with a mini look good. The Uggs are the taller, slimmer style worn with tights, a denim mini and a parka. Oh, and it's Jennifer Aniston, who looks good in anything.
I see this look all. the. time. and it makes me nauseous. Girls just need to stop with this trend. Haha!

when its freezing cold, with a pair of leggings and a fleece jacket if I'm running
to the store or to pick up food at night. then it is acceptable
& practical :)
I agree with you 100%. Ugg boots are not too cute, ESPECIALLY if they are worn with skirts! Ahhh!
